San Clemente Island, California: If turned into Real Estate, how much would the land be worth?
Let us say that the owner of the island, the U.S. Navy, sold the whole island. If the island were developed with mixed single-family detached houses and condos, what would you guess the total value of the land would be, once developed and occupied? It is about 56 square miles. That would be prime real estate with a Mediterranean climate.
Real Estate folks, what do you think?
Probably a little more than double the value of Santa Catalina Island. Especially considering it’s located roughly 25 miles south of Santa Catalina.
I couldn’t give you a developed number, but I believe if the Navy were ever to sell the island, (which it won’t) it could fetch something in the billions mark. That being said, having grown up in San Clemente, you couldn’t pay me to live there!
